Volunteering for the Long Beach Golf Festival can be a fun way to meet many great people and watch some outstanding golf.
As a volunteer you will receive a LBGF Tournament Volunteer golf shirt and name badge, receive a free meal for every shift worked, and have an opportunity to play in the Volunteer’s Golf Tournament at the close of the LBGF season. The tournament includes a round of golf, followed by a luncheon with lots of thank-you gifts given out.

Most job assignments are 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 1:00p.m. – 7:00p.m, but could be shorter, or longer, for any particular tournament or day. If you are not an early person, please make a note on your registration form. We have a harder time finding volunteers for the afternoon shifts, so if you can possibly work in the afternoon please note that on the Registration Sheet.
To qualify to play in the Volunteer’s Tournament in August, you must work at least 2 tournaments. Please sign up for a minimum of 4 tournaments so we will have options for which events to use you. Signing up for a minimum of 4 tournaments does not necessarily mean we will use you in all events you sign up for.

A. During all but the last two rounds of the Long Beach Open, marshals are in a cart and patrol 3- 5 holes during the tournament.
Responsibilities include: spotting lost balls, calling for a rules official on a portable radio (when available), notifying tournament official if there is a problem on the course, you DO NOT make rulings or interpret rules for the players
B. During the Saturday & Sunday rounds of the Long Beach Open, marshals are stationed on a specific hole, landing area or green. Marshals should provide their own beach chair. Job assignments on Saturday & Sunday are for the entire day (7 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

This is an early-shift job, usually starting at 6:00 a.m. Here volunteers will register players as they arrive to the golf course, distribute lunch tickets and tee favors.

This is a late-shift job, usually starting at 11:30 a.m. You must be good with numbers and be able to concentrate while surrounded with many distractions. The days’ scores are added up and verified, handicaps subtracted, and several days’ scores added together.

This is an early-shift job and you must enjoy working with people. You make sure all players are at the tee, give instructions to all players in each group, call the players to the tee in a professional voice and answer the same question many times during the morning.

Walking scorers are assigned during the Crosby Memorial Junior Golf Championship and the Long Beach Open.
Scorers at Recreation Park 9 will be keeping score for the 11 & under juniors. Their starting times are from 9:00am-12:00pm.
During the Long Beach Open, we will have leader signs for the final groups on the weekend. Junior golfers will be carrying the leader signs, but a walking scorer will be needed to verify the players' scores. If you are interested in this job, you will need to be at El Dorado by 8:30am.

Could be putting signage on the course, putting out water bottles and ice, putting up tents, handing out balls at the driving range, etc.
